Abstract: Peculiarities of making managerial decisions regarding the tasks and problem situations in gas industry are considered. Two ways of improving decisions reliability are proposed. The first way takes into account different experts’ opinions used in Shortliffe–Buchanan model. The second way is based on distinguishing several stages in the decision-making process and possibility of its correction after each stage.

Development of Continuous Resource-Saving Process of Potassium Superoxide Synthesis

Abstract: Potassium superoxide (KÎ2) is one of the most promising basic components of regenerative products used in human toxicity protectors. The proposed method of potassium superoxide recovery is based on chemical interaction of relatively inexpensive reagents: hydrogen peroxide and potassium hydroxide under intensive reagent mixture dehydration. Kinetics of combined physical chemical process of potassium superoxide recovery from potassium peroxide peroxysolvate solution in drying agent current, as well as kinetics of KÎ2 and drying agent vapor interaction and kinetics of KÎ2 decomposition, have been studied experimentally. A continuous energy-saving process of KÎ2 recovery in spray type apparatus has been developed.

Radical basic functions algorithm provides computational platform for analysis and optimization of multidimensional function. The algorithm can be applied to a wide range of tasks of chemical mixtures optimization.

Intensification Methods of Extracting Biologically Active Substances from Vegetative Raw Materials

Abstract: Theoretical and practical issues of extraction biologically active substances from vegetative raw materials are studied. It is shown that ultrasound influence within the frequency range of 20 KHz – 1,5 MHz is an effective method, which allows extracting practically all known substance from vegetative raw materials. The dependencies of the extraction and destruction degree of extracted biologically active substances on the frequency and intensity of ultrasound as well as molecular mass of processed substances haven’t been found so far.

Abstract: To optimize manufacturing of sinter alloy UN14 the parameters of powder technology influencing the quality of materials are studied. The liquid phase sintering of polycomponent powder compacts is examined by the method of high-temperature resistometry. The temperature-time intervals of phase transformations in sinter alloy responsible for formation of optimum structure and magnetic properties are determined.

The Effect of State Parameters of Upper Layer on Corrosion-Fatigue Durability of Hydraulic Turbines Blades and the Choice of Method of their Finish Processing

Abstract: The review of current hypotheses about the nature of corrosion-fatigue durability as well as the effect of physical and mechanical metal parameters of the parts surface layer is carried out. The results of experimental research into the influence of different methods of mechanical processing in the state of upper layer and corrosion fatigue of hydraulic turbine steel are given, thus enabling to ground scientifically effective method of finish processing of hydraulic turbine blades by tape grinding. The long-term process of hardening by surface plastic deformation to improve the performance characteristics of hydraulic turbine blades is shown.

Research into Composition, Properties and Sizes of Composted Mixture Layer

Abstract: Dependencies determining border conditions for the size of composted mixture layer in bioreactor of module type are stated. The layer height of the processed material in the bioreactor depends on its physico-mechanical and thermo-physical properties as the minimum layer height of straw-manure mixture with 70 % humidity keeping positive balance of heat is 0.46 m and maximum layer height on condition of keeping pore space is 2.26 m while the concentration of dry manure in the mixture is 0.37?0.4. The process of bio-fermentation lasts 168 hours at the temperature intervals between 53 and 76 °C. The mixture reaches maximum temperature of 76 °C in 22?24 hours. The dependencies of active specific heat emission from humidity and concentration of dry manure in the mixture are stated.

Approaches to Writing and Thinking (in English).

Abstract: Major problems of teaching thinking while writing different papers are discussed. It is pointed out that writing papers is a vital part of the educational process because it requires of students intensive study of a limited topic. Therefore it is essential for students to learn the standardized process of writing reports and essays. Some guidelines and basic strategies of preparing for BULATS Writing Test are given. It is stressed that to create a focused and interesting report, it’s necessary to plan carefully. Some tips for using illustrations of details are given. The conclusion is drawn that by maintaining these three attitudes – objectivity, neutrality, and strictness in observation – the writer will be able to make a credible and acceptable report.
