serge2410@yandex.ru

Key words and phrases: continuous casting machine; heat transfer; crystallizer; mathematical modeling.
Abstract: Since the cooling of the molded cake occurs through the edge surfaces the mathematical model should take into account the information about the temperature of the cake edges as zones of the maximum temperature gradient. Thus, for the adequate description of the cake molding process in the crystallizer it is necessary to solve the spatial problem. For the contact problem development which examines the process both in the crystallizer and in the cake in detail, it is necessary to determine the heat flows on the boundary “cake – crystallizer wall” through the properties of the dross mixture. It enables to exclude from the formula of the problem such characteristics as heat flow value or heat transfer coefficient which depend on many factors.
